Our selection of tools, kits, and materials is made after extensive evaluation by our team of carpenters, educators, therapists, and a wood physicist. The children's tools come from select manufacturers or from our own workshop in Hamburg. We use only local solid woods and prioritize durable quality, safety, functionality, and appealing design in child-sized dimensions. While children's tools can certainly be "cute," functionality and safety are paramount to us.

What do I need for crafting?
Holzwerken ist vielfältig, es gibt viele Möglichkeiten den Werkstoff Holz zu bearbeiten, daher gibt es auch eine ganze Reihe von Werkzeugen. Jeder Arbeitsschritt setzt ein spezielles Werkzeug voraus. Aber keine Angst, die Werkkiste zeigt, dass Holzwerken kinderleicht und ein großer Spaß für die ganze Familie ist. Anfangs sind eine Kindersäge, ein Kinderhammer, ein paar Nägel und Holzleim ausreichend um erste Werkerfahrungen zu machen. Die ambitionierten kleinen Tischler*innen/Schreiner*innen werden mit unserem großen Werkzeugset für Kinder rundum glücklich sein. Denn hier sind die wichtigsten Werkzeuge für Kinder enthalten.

A secure workplace
Das Werkeln sollte an einem sicheren Arbeitsplatz erfolgen. Das kann eine Kinderwerkbank sein oder auch ein stabiler Küchentisch mit Tischschutzunterlage. In einem Schraubstock lässt sich das Werkstück sicher befestigen. Für Kinder ist es wichtig, einen Platz zu haben, um das Werkzeug gut zu verstauen. Ideal ist ein Werkzeugkasten oder auch eine Werkzeugwand.

Good, sharp tools are essential for crafting. Working with blunt children's tools is not only tedious, but also dangerous. So-called "children's tools," especially those sold in cheap sets that bend at the first use, quickly spoil the fun of crafting. We generally recommend buying fewer, but higher-quality tools for children rather than too many that are never used and are of inferior quality.
Warning: These tools must only be used under adult supervision, and adults bear full responsibility for their use. Tools are not toys.
