Small, fine screwdrivers

A Phillips and a slotted screwdriver are indispensable in any toolbox. While slotted screws have their own unique aesthetic appeal, we recommend Phillips screws and matching Phillips screwdrivers for children.

We looked at many different screwdrivers, but we liked the small wooden ones best. These screwdrivers are robust and durable, can even withstand a hammer blow, and feel warm and secure in the hand.

Screwed wood joints are very strong, but not always easy for children to make. Sometimes pre-drilling with a pilot drill helps, for example, to screw wheels onto vehicles and other stressed parts.

Is it "Schraubendreher" or "Schraubenzieher"?

The correct term is "screwdriver," because the screws are screwed in, as stated in all standards. Previously, the terms "pull in" or "tighten" screws into wood were used. This is the origin of the older name "screwdriver," which is still used colloquially.

What is Torx?

Torx is a type of screw drive, similar to slotted or Phillips. Colloquially, these screws are also called "star screws." There are many other screw head types

Are there still slotted screws available?

Slotted screws have become less common. Classic screws are difficult to screw in due to poor torque transmission and the tendency to slip sideways. However, because of their classic design (they simply look the best), they are still used, for example, in model making, restoration, or anywhere where appearance is particularly important.
